First, a few fun facts about me as a creative..

The headings across my site are assigned to a font called 'Playfair Display'  a personal favourite of mine. I like it so much that I have the font tattooed on my arm – hidden behind the words, "Sight" and "Vision."

Years ago, a permaculture innovator in Malawi, Africa taught me that "It is a terrible thing to be born with sight [or rather, the ability to see] and not have a vision." I took this insight with me and have used it as inspiration to approach life with a keen attention to detail. I love what I do, and find fun in challenging the way I see things. I catch myself constantly seeking outlets to be more 'creative,' daydreaming about clever marketing campaigns, cool, new sustainability initiatives, or even the way a restaurant owner arranges their decor on the regular.

More specifically, I look for the most effective solutions to share with respective consumers. I suppose I'm a self-proclaimed customer-first creative.

Oh, and the body font here is Avenir Light, because it's an attractive and geometric sans serif font, making large bodies of text easier on the eye for readers.. or skimmers!

I also then designed the final templates for the roll-out of the new branding across Instagram and LinkedIn, as well as official business cards for the team.

I began 2022 by designing the final logo for pleanmór Digital Creative Agency – a proud, small and close-knit Irish creative team of experienced freelancers that specialised in 'all things digital.'  I was one of the founding members, and the role allowed me to apply my expertise while traveling across the globe.

Scope: Design an eye-catching logo that's easily adaptable to any one of the current popular socials, while ensuring the look and feel embody the characteristics of the organisation: feminine (female-led and proudly so), positive, enlightening, warm, welcoming, collaborative, harmonious and 'bearers' of a new [digital] horizon for small, community-centered businesses.

03  |  Logo Design

Logo design is always a fun project because it gives me the opportunity to dedicate the time to get to know more about a business, its leader(s), teammates, values, and goals. I think marketers hold the power – and the responsibility – to ensure our clientele are presenting their services to consumers in an appealing, yet accurate, way. This is the era of passion projects, further fuelled by the shift toward remote work over recent years. My work is a passion project all the same; I love what I do, which is why I aim to align with companies that truly share my values and visions, such as ..

Yoga With Misha

After having the pleasure of stumbling into one of Misha's first celebratory yoga classes at her new, beautiful studio in Salthill, Co. Galway, my work relationship with her really blossomed.

Prior to consulting on the design of her new logo, I also collaborated with Misha while in my former role at All About Kombucha, independently organising the team's first wellness day with Misha leading bonding activities at the brewery.

Previously relying on a few set colours and her name alone, the creative minds of Yoga with Misha and pleanmór came together to further solidify a brand kit and design a logo that Misha felt better portrayed the energy of her studio. Something she was proud to show off moving forward!

The final design captures the essence of Misha's new studio in Galway, while also clearly telling the audience what the studio is all about. It also incorporates her favourite, more stereotypical 'feminine' colours to appeal her majority female audience, while paying homage to her personal love for celestial elements and vision toward a harmonious and diverse community.

Breege Nolan Health

Formerly known as Breege Nolan Physiotherapy, I recently had the opportunity to redesign Breege's logo, as she grows her practice in Co. Carlow and completes her training to become a Sport and Exercise Psychologist.

Immediately after meeting Breege, it became obvious that she is bubbly, positive force – just as her friends and coworkers described. While advocating for a meaningful, mindful exercise accessible to everyone, Breege has created a variety of classes for individuals of all experience levels.

Breege included her full name in the business for a reason – she only offers experiences to her clients that she would defend with her own name. She liked the glimpse of movement suggested in her previous logo (to the right), but craved more colours and visuals that sit nicely in a circle, which can be more seamlessly integrated across her digital channels.

An Seomra Yoga

An Seomra Yoga was my first client with pleanmór, and a community that I quickly identified with after meeting Co-Owner Paul Hardiman and learning more about his unique 'yogi approach.'

His classes go beyond what I'd consider to be the yoga class fundamentals. People who practice there (myself included) always leave the studio more relaxed and with a smile on their face. I had never laughed in a yoga class before meeting Paul – the fun is endless!

Paul takes a holistic approach to his practice, believing we are able to grow more conscious and in tune with parts of ourselves that we may have neglected otherwise, before finding ways to eventually heal at our own pace.

When he first described his business to me, he emphasised his core values: postural integrity, regular practice, staying on course, maintaining balance and growing strength. We discussed how the elements of Mother Earth all play a part in how we move and interact with her. All of these were aspects that I wanted to come through in the final logo – designed alongside the talented Aisling Gahan.

From there, Aisling and I solidified a brand kit, which I followed closely when designing An Seomra Yoga's new website – to be launched on Squarespace in early 2023. The original site is still live and can be reviewed here.

04  |  Website Design

Scope: Design new pages for the Mindful Marketing Retreats website (based in Vancouver, Canada) to promote their upcoming workshop, while providing retreat information in the most clear and concise way possible – within the copy / design bounds set by pre-existing brand guidelines.

05  |  Aok Nutrition

I also designed a series of eBooks for nutritional therapist and rising micro influencer, Aisling of @AokNutrition

I love copywriting, reading, editing and designing tangible products. While digital marketing may be overtaking  traditional marketing tactics, I maintain the belief that it's equally important to think 'beyond the computer' and have at-the-ready creative, alternative touch points that further engage the audience and foster a loyal following, resulting in a higher consumer retention rate.

Then, I designed Instagram posts to share in conjunction with a free recipe lead magnet, which was included across her website to attract new subscribers. We wanted to offer a timely lead magnet to loyal consumers before the launch, with the hope of getting the new eBook in front of as many prospective consumers as possible.
